Raised on the continent of Tellius in a country named Crimea, the Radiant Hero Ike is the leader of the Greil Mercenaries, succeeding his father Greil after he fell to the Black Knight. Ike has appeared in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, where he became the leader of the Crimean Liberation Army to end two wars. After the second war ended and peace was restored to Tellius, Ike left Tellius behind to travel to distant lands.
In Smash Bros., Ike fights for his friends (and likely himself as well) while wielding the holy blade Ragnell, a two-handed weapon that he swings using one arm. As such, he is slow but powerful with some of the heaviest-hitting Smash Attacks in the game.
