Greninja is a Water- and Dark-type Ninja Pokémon native to the Kalos region. It evolves from the starter Pokémon Froakie, who is available for new trainers to choose along with Fennekin and Chespin.
With a diverse movepool and the Hidden Ability Protean, it has found a spot among the greats in competitive Pokémon battling. It’s also one of the only known Pokémon to have two signature moves: Water Shuriken and Mat Block, both of which it puts to use in this game.
Being a Water-type Pokémon, it naturally uses water for most of its attacks. Its slick Shadow Sneak maneuver and countering Substitute move coupled with its high aerial mobility make it a rather agile and devious fighter.
